The Cement Association of Canada is announcing changes to its corporate structure to align with industry objectives and their strong commitment to sustainability and the Canadian cement and concrete industry’s Concrete Zero Action Plan

Under the new organizational structure, the CAC will have three distinct departments: Industrial Decarbonization and Sustainability, Construction Innovation, and Public Affairs and Advocacy.

Each department will be led by a Vice President:

  • Sarah Petrevan, Vice President, Industrial Decarbonization and Sustainability
  • Rob Cooney, Vice President, Construction Innovation
  • Martha Murray, Vice President, Public Affairs and Advocacy

Rob Cooney, an industrial engineer and the new Vice President of Construction Innovation, joins the Cement Association of Canada following his leadership of the Low Carbon Assets through Lifecycle Assessment (LCA2) initiative at National Research Council and his recent responsibilities advancing low carbon procurement and buy clean policies under the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat Greening of Government initiative.

Additionally, the CAC has expanded its Industrial Decarbonization and Sustainability team, with Saveena Patara joining as a Senior Policy Advisor. Saveena is a sustainability and climate researcher with an MBA in Sustainable Commerce and a Masters of Environmental Studies.

Adam Auer, President and CEO of the Cement Association of Canada, said “The new structure and the addition of staff to the CAC team is a strong commitment from our board to continue the work to have our industry lead and thrive in a clean economy. Emphasizing leadership, transparency, and collaboration, this will enable us to further deliver on our Concrete Zero Action Plan as well as our other corporate objectives.”
