Concrete Ontario Pavement Seminar – OptiPave System
Concrete Ontario Pavement Seminar – OptiPave System
Location: Centre for Health & Safety Innovation (CHSI)
5110 Creekbank Rd, Mississauga, ON
Cost: $100+HST
The seminar will focus on Optimized Concrete Pavement Designs using the OptiPave System and will be presented by Sherry Sullivan MASc., P.Eng, LEED AP, Business Development and Pavement Engineering at FORTA Concrete Fiber, and Mark Popik M.Eng., P.Eng., AVS, Principal, Senior Pavement Engineer at Thurber Engineering Ltd.
The OptiPave System is a proven concrete pavement design technology that has been successfully utilized globally for more than 15 years. It offers a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to traditional asphalt paving methods, resulting in reduced construction and maintenance costs while also maximizing performance and service life. The OptiPave System achieves these benefits by utilizing advanced engineering methods that optimize slab geometry to allow for more efficient distribution of loads. This optimization reduces the need for frequent repairs and replacements, providing superior long-term performance as well as cost savings. Additionally, the OptiPave System has demonstrated significant reductions in global warming potential, setting a new industry standard for environmentally friendly infrastructure solutions.
In addition to the above, Tim J Smith, P.Eng., MSc. Eng., Senior Director, Built Environment, Transportation and Public Works at Cement Association of Canada (CAC) will overview the Concrete Zero Action Plan, which was released by CAC to outline Canada’s cement and concrete industry’s approach to achieving net-zero concrete by 2050.
